AB III is the third studio album by the rock band Alter Bridge, released on October 8, 2010. Produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette, it is a departure from the band's first two albums for several reasons, the primary reason being that it is a loose concept album, a first for Alter Bridge, with themes of mostly struggles with faith and believing. It is more dynamic and progressive, musically, and it features lyrics that are much darker than the lyrics on the band's previous albums. AB III is also the first Alter Bridge album to be released on Roadrunner Records, making it the band's third consecutive album to be released on a different label. The album was released on Roadrunner Records worldwide except North America, where it was self-released on Alter Bridge Recordings via Capitol Records. The first single, "Isolation," was released on September 26, 2010 in the United Kingdom and November 9, 2010 in the United States.

Originally set for release on October 26, 2010, it was recorded at Wade Studios in Ocala, Florida between May–July 2010. It was mixed by David Bendeth, mastered by Ted Jensen and produced by Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory, who also produced the band's previous album Homesick.
